A love for youth and the development of their full potential was the primary motivating factor that inspired Founder Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little to organize Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Young people today face challenges that could never have been imagined years ago, but such challenges provide the sorority with opportunities to carry on the vision of Little.

The Rhoer club is an affiliate organization of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. founded in 1939 and is organized on the local, regional, and national levels. The Club is designed to inspire young ladies between the ages of 12 through 18 to develop positive and healthy attitudes.  The Rhoer Club also serves as an effective means to encourage young ladies to realize high educational and career aspirations as well as to prime them to meet the challenges of womanhood.

 

The Rhoer club provides opportunities to learn leadership development, philanthropy, team-building, health and wellness education, fundraising, and college and vocational preparation skills.  The club is also a positive environment in which to cultivate new friendships.

 

Sorority mentors motivate and challenge Rhoer Club members to advance themselves in terms of their personal talents and future professions.  Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, supports and is committed to the personal growth of each Rhoer Club member.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Rhoer Club will meet once a month to discuss club business and participate in workshops. Workshop topics include career planning, academic counseling, financial literacy, self-esteem, social media image, cybersecurity, health & wellness, and other relevant topics. In addition to the monthly meeting, the Rhoers will also participate in sorority-sponsored events including community service projects and local, regional, and national conferences.
